How to Care for Purple Rim Montipora Confusa Coral: (written by Dave Burr) Placement: Mount the Purple Rim Montipora Confusa using IC gel glue, or putty, on an exposed rock or ledge in the aquarium where it will receive direct flow and light. Purple Rim Montipora Confusa will encrust the rock and can plate out or grow into a bowl shape. It may eventually shade corals below it. Feeding: Vivid Aquariums recommends feeding the Purple Rim Montipora Confusa corals with Oyster-Feast and/or Roti-Feast. Target feeding gets the corals fed using less food while keeping your nitrates and phosphates lower. Lighting & Flow Requirements: The Purple Rim Montipora Confusa requires moderate to high water flow and moderate to bright lighting (PAR 100+) to maintain its color. T5's, Metal Halides, or LED's can all grow acropora when the proper PAR levels are provided. We recommend a 14-20K color
